  • Stay @ Home Soirée

The First Ever Angels in Action “Stay @ Home Soirée” December 21, 2011!

    Dear Friends,

You’re invited to a party. But please…don’t show up!

Angels in Action is holding our first ever Stay @ Home Soirée in support of the Ottawa Regional Cancer Foundation.

I’m writing to you and all the others who gathered with us for our fundraising “Dinner Dance for Angels” at Tudor Hall, last November.

Thanks to your support we have made a significant and positive difference in the care of our sisters and their loved ones who are fighting or have fought ovarian cancer.

This year, we are going to change it up just a bit. We are holding a “non-event” and I’m hoping for your continuing support.

The Stay @ Home Soirée. No fuss, no muss, no cost!

“Tickets” for the non-event are just $50 each and 100% goes directly to ovarian cancer research through the Ottawa Regional Cancer Foundation. You receive a full tax receipt for every “ticket” you buy.

Everybody loves a party. My sister Fay enjoyed parties and sharing time with friends. Unfortunately Fay passed away over 11 years ago on April 13, 2000. Just one year after being diagnosed with ovarian cancer.

Months later, a group of us organized the first fund-raising event in her name. Since then, Angels in Action has raised more than $190,000 for ovarian cancer research, treatment and support in Ottawa.

You are part of everything we’ve accomplished so far. You play an important role in the advancement of ovarian cancer research, right here in Ottawa. Pretty amazing!

So on December 21, 2011, instead of attending our annual event, please stay at home. Take a moment to think of your loved ones who are facing ovarian cancer. I’ll be making two toasts. The first one will be to my sister, Fay and the women who have lost their lives to this disease. The second, to you and everyone who supports Angels in Action and the Stay @ Home Soirée.

Why hold a Stay @ Home Soirée? We wanted to try something new and we are working on other exciting fund-raising projects for the new year! Many of you have been asking about the event this year and I know it’s a bit later than usual, but we wanted to help make a difference for ovarian cancer research now!

By responding to this appeal, you will be continuing our commitment to everyone and anyone who is touched by ovarian cancer.

This is a totally new approach for Angels in Action. We hope you help make it a success. I encourage you to buy your non-ticket (or non-tickets) today or before December 21st.

You will get a tax receipt for the full amount of your donation.

Call Rachael at the Ottawa Regional Cancer Foundation at 613-247-3527 ext. 233 to “buy” your tickets to the Stay @ Home Soirée and tell them you’ll stay home!

    Sincerely,

    Linda Laframboise
    Angels in Action

PS The Angels in Action Stay @ Home Soirée is a virtual non-event. Every $50 “ticket” you buy turns into a 100% donation towards ovarian cancer research through the Ottawa Regional Cancer Foundation.

If everyone receiving this invitation buys just one ticket, we will be able to present $15,000 for Ovarian Cancer Research to the Ottawa Regional Cancer Foundation! Buy two tickets and we’ll raise just over $30,000!

Your individual involvement is important. Please buy your ticket today, and in the new year, I’ll write you back and tell you how we did!
